You are invited to come meet Juan Manuel Chavajay Cotuc, Director & Co-founder of Taa’ Pi’t Intercultural Learning Center and a Tzutujil Maya leader from “T’zun Ya’” (Hummingbird of the Lake) -San Pedro la Laguna, Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
TRAVEL with Juan as he shares stories about his Maya cosmovision roots and his “cosmo-mission” at this crucial time in history: 2012. Juan Manuel has created a grassroots program for children to participate in community leadership roles, at this time when Maya across Guatemala are reclaiming their ancestral wisdom and knowledge in order to face the challenges in these times.
Nancy Lynn McCoy will translate, and share her story of working with this unique organization, helping to build bridges of cooperation and harmony across cultures.
Juan Manuel’s talk is being hosted by Susan Partnow. Guests will be invited to support the work of Taa’ Pi’t Intercultural Learning Center. There is no cost to attend the event.

Comment by Peggy Petersen on July 29, 2012 at 8:27pm We had the great good honor of hosting Juan Manuel and Nancy Lynn today at SoulFood Books, in Redmond. They gave an inspiring and important talk about the work Taa P'it is doing in Guatemala to restore the culture, working with their children, after centuries of repression under colonization and especially under the Guatemalan Holocaust (some call it a "civil war"). I highly recommend attending and hearing Juan Manuel's story, and supporting the work of http://www.taapit.org/.
