SUMMARY:Conversation on Healthcare (Whole-System) | RSVP by August 2
 3, 2010
DESCRIPTION:Greetings friends, peers and colleagues,\n\nAs we watch th
e US grapple with healthcare reform, there are many of us who realize
the current proposed changes do not even come close to what is really
needed. We know so much more than the system is willing to admit, endo
rse or even consider. Many of us feel it is time to design a healthcar
e system that has much greater capacity for healthcare delivery.\n\nYo
u are receiving this email because you already participate in some way
in leading edge healthcare practices, and/or design. Many of us who l
ive on this leading edge have been quietly designing our own personal
health generation programs. We have been figuring out how to mesh anci
ent knowledge with modern technology, and actively working with our ow
n health and wellbeing on multiple dimensions simultaneously. What if
we, collectively are actually \"being\" the future of healthcare deliv
ery in how we look after ourselves, our families, our communities, and
our planet?\n\nThe four of us (Mark Jones, Candi Foon, Elizabeth Fowl
er and Kim Adams) have been collaborating for over a year in envisioni
ng a healthcare delivery system that would help the human community su
rvive and thrive past our current global crises.\n\nWe feel that a fun
ctional and insightful system is essential not only in supporting heal
th creation, but also in generating the kind of mindset that will supp
ort humans in living a more generative co-existence on this planet. A
system that generates health must by definition generate health for al
l life, on the whole spectrum from the life of the soul to the life of
the soil.\n\nWe believe that the centrality of business models and tr
eatment modalities must address healthcare across a \"Whole-Life Cycle
 \", versus \"Episodic\" care engagement — a whole-person whole-syste
m approach that focuses on prevention rather than intervention. We als
o feel health and wellness strategies need to be based on individual (
personal) and collective (community) awareness and responsibility. We
believe that an emphasis on personal health creation in the context of
community support will decrease recidivism, and decrease the rate of
growth in healthcare costs.\n\nWe would like to invite you to a meal a
nd conversation to share our individual and mutual designs of health s
ystems we may have invisibly built for ourselves (and others) over our
years of personal growth, investigation, experimentation and manifest
ation. Our intention is to convene a broad cross-section of representa
tives of the “whole system” of healthcare and wellness to explore
and bring out into public discussion all that we have learned and crea
ted in our lives on the subject of health generation.\n\nCalling Quest
ion:\n1. What becomes possible, or can be done more efficiently and ef
fectively together — than can be accomplished separately?\n2. What a
re the healthcare practices, system designs, projects — important is
sues and solutions — where there is readiness for and would benefit
from our collective support?\n\nWhen: September 15, 2010\n\nWhere: GGL
 O | 1301 1st Avenue | Seattle, WA 98101 | (206) 467-5828\n\nWhat: Dinn
er with Elizabeth and Kim role-playing into being a version of a new s
ystem. Desert and collective design creation to follow.\n\nWe hope you
will join us in the exploration of what we already know, and how clos
e we may be to being able to manifest a viable and sustainable system
our planet is calling forth. We think we collectively already know and
practice this system in our own lives. It's time to elucidate it and
make it public knowledge.\n\nMark Jones, Candi Foon, Elizabeth Fowler
and Kim Adams\n\nFor more information visit http://www.compassionatese
