CHALLENGE dialogue: Religious Tolerance in an Age of Terrorism
with Fr. William Treacy, co-founder of Camp Brotherhood
Rabbi James Mirel, Sr. Rabbi, Temple B’Nai Torah
Jawad Khaki, President, IMAN

A Rabbi and a Priest met in 1960 and developed a bond that crossed the boundaries of religion, culture and ethnicity. They boldly promoted a public theology through their weekly dialogue during prime time on the contemporary issues of their day, from an interfaith perspective. They put their faith into action by founding Camp Brotherhood to promote unity and harmony within the human family. Today, their legacy is about to make a dramatic leap forward, and you can be part of it.

Camp Brotherhood is rejuvenating its legacy of dialogue and re-branding itself to more fully address the changing challenges of our day. Come and witness its emerging identity and connect with others to imagine the future that together we will co-create. We CAN keep hope for peace alive through interfaith dialogue and compassionate action for justice in the world.

I will not be able to attend but wanted to say that I appreciate Deborah and Anne's comments about the food. I have been to so many events where the food was glaringly backward and polar opposite of the very essence of the event. Thanks so much for bringing this into awareness and best wishes for a great event.

Hello dears! Sounds wonderful and I am sorry I will be up on Orcas Island visioning Thrive Commons--a new Internet platform. Blessings on you all. And DO pay attention to Sourcing and cooking locally for the celebration, as DEborah suggests. It's all of a piece. Peace!

Dinner, factory processed foods or local organic? That little bit is as important as the dialogue. It is a part of the the economic system that these fundraisers are reliant on. Ironic as these attempts to patch the wounds that religious us/them has delivered is not looking at the economic dividing that goes with it all and the unhealthy "food" that agri biz delivers.Social equity, faith beyond the religious mythos of ancient eras and smart sustainable economic growth with diversity seen as a plus and not an acquisition challenge; now that is the real discussion. As far as action, well that is where the money could really be utilized.!
