Event Description

Dear Friends,

Please join us for our next NICO-CAN Brown Bag Luncheon Meeting on Tuesday, May 11th at 11:00 AM at St Pat's Roanoke House - 2601 Broadway Avenue East at Roanoke Street.

OUR WORK IS: to cultivate an inter-spiritual, community-wide environment of compassion that is grounded in contemplative wisdom, a concern for others and practical action.

Inspired by Karen Armstrong;'s challenge that we strive to practice the Golden Rule "all day, every day", and by the city's proclamation of Seattle as a Compassionate City, we will devote this meeting to the question:

What important InterSpiritual programs, projects and issues are to be addressed that will benefit from the collective support of our organizations and communities ?

Come share your voice and your insights and join the growing Compassion Movement.

In community,
John Hale

"I say that religion isn't about believing things. It's ethical alchemy. It's about behaving in a way that changes you, that gives you intimations of holiness and sacredness."

I agree; it would be a wonderful way of widening our net. Let's be sure to include this idea in Tuesday's meeting.

I think we need a broad based interspiritual coalition supporting the charter...wouldn't it be great to get a number of insitutions (both secular and religious) to sign the charter as institutions? Just a thought...
