Join author and humorist Steve Bhaerman aka Swami Beyond Ananda and political visionary Joseph McCormick, co-founder, Reuniting America for an evening of wit and wisdom. This will be an event beyond the traditional 'Divide and Conquer' rhetoric and explore with humor and insight "A New Politics for a New Economy".

The show and dialogue will be based on their new e-book called Reuniting America: A Toolkit for Changing the Political Game (http://reunitingamerica.or​g/), a manifesto for a "transpartisan up-wising" that weaves bold truth telling about power, control and the game of politics with the enlightened humor of a jester willing to point out "the Emperor has no clothes." As old top-down ways of governing prove inadequate in the face of increasing complexity, it is intended to direct attention to the early signs of a new, cooperative form of political behavior emerging from the bottom-up and inside out.

Bios:

Steve Bhaerman is an internationally known author, humorist, and workshop leader. For the past 23 years, he has written and performed as Swami Beyondananda, the "Cosmic Comic." Swami's comedy has been called "irreverently uplifting" and has been described both as "comedy disguised as wisdom" and "wisdom disguised as comedy." Since 2005, Steve has written a political blog with a spiritual perspective, Notes From the Trail, hailed as an encouraging voice "in the bewilderness." His latest book, written with cellular biologist Bruce H. Lipton, PhD is Spontaneous Evolution: Our Positive Future and a Way to Get There From Here (Hay House, 2009). In 1998 Joseph McCormick had an impeccable political resume: a former officer in the Army Rangers, a degree in Public and Private Management from Yale, and a rising star in the conservative movement with Bob Dole and Newt Gingrich campaigning for him for Congress. By 2001 at the age of 39 he was living alone in a cabin without electricity, deeply disillusioned with the
political uncivil war. By 2004 he had reentered politics with a new approach, building rather than destroying bridges. He eventually helped bring over 145 national leaders representing over seventy million Americans into multi-day retreat dialogues in search of opportunities to collaborate. He has extended this work to the grassroots, working primarily in Oregon and Washington to create replicable, prototypical models of a transpartisan democratic republic at the scale of a town, city, and county.
