"Reality is But a Dream" workshop with Helen Vandeman

The world is simply the out-picturing of our inner state of mind. It is real only to minds that are asleep. Regardless of the apparent pain and conflict, it is serving some purpose for us. Since we made a world in which we appear to be separate from each other and from the fulfillment of our desires, we now appear to be victims of someone else’s dream. However, we cannot awaken from a dream others are dreaming for us. If we want a new story, we need to take responsibility for the mind that created the world, and to give our thoughts and actions a different purpose. Nothing can satisfy our perceived needs, let alone awaken us from the dream, until we change our self-concept and our purpose.

Our task in the workshop will be to learn how to live in peace within the dream, how to dream a peaceful dream and, finally, how to awaken from it. We will do that by joining with each other in a shared purpose, and by learning basic intuition techniques to identify and remove our blocks to the awareness of our true Self and peace.

Helen D. Vandeman, B.A., M.Ed., University of Washington; former adjunct faculty at Antioch University and at the University of Washington School of Medicine teaching Spirituality in Medicine.  Before retiring, Helen had thirty years expertise in developing programs, teaching courses, giving lectures and workshops on death and dying, integrative healing, the dynamics of mind-body-spirit, cross-cultural and complementary medicine, consciousness, intuition, intentionality and spirituality. She is the author of three books, We Are One: Using Intuition to Awaken to Truth, The Thresholds of Intention: Crossing from Dreaming to Awakening (out of print), and Reality Is But a Dream: A Multi-Cultural Exploration.
