Dream Studies Level 1

This 3-day course presents a fascinating immersion in Tibetan Dream studies. Practical and theoretical components are well-balanced to give a comprehensive coverage of this vast subject. Topics include:

Consciousness as defined by Tibetan culture: the different divisions of consciousness and their functions
rLung energy – the subtle vitalizing energy: The divisions of rLung energies and their functions; The Five Elements, their energies and functions in the body
Chakras and channels in the body – their functions and relationship to dreams
The relationship between Consciousness, rLung energies, Chakras and channels
The manner in which Dreams manifest and how we experience dreams through the five sense organs
The relationship between Dreams and Traditional Tibetan Medicine; Classification of Dreams according to Tibetan Medical theory
The relationship between Time and Dreams
The theory and analysis of dreams in Healthy people: Experience of the Dream; The meaning of Symbols in our dreams
The theory and analysis of dreams in sick people: The diagnosis of illness using dreams; dreams for indications of prognosis and cure
An introduction to Dream Work: How dreams can be utilized for curing blockages of energy and mind
Dreams and Spiritual practice. Understanding the difference between ordinary, symbolic and prophetic dreams
An introduction to Dream Yoga – the most profound study and practice of Dreams in the Tibetan tradition

Dr Nida Chenagtsang was born in Amdo, Tibet. Interested in the traditional medicine of his people, Dr Nida began his early medical training at the local Traditional Tibetan Medicine Hospital. Later he gained scholarship entry to Lhasa Tibetan Medical University and completed his medical training in 1996. Dr Nida gained his practical training at the Traditional Tibetan Medicine Hospitals in Lhasa (Lhasa Mentsi Khang) and Lhoka.
Dr Nida has published a number of articles and several books on Traditional Tibetan Medicine. He has extensively researched ancient Tibetan medicinal treatments, specialising in the revival of external therapies, which has brought him high acclaim in the field of Tibetan Medicine in both the East and West. Dr Nida is Director of the International Academy for Traditional Tibetan Medicine (IATTM) and the Co-Founder of the International Ngak-Mang Institutes (NMI), established to preserve and maintain the Rebkong Ngakpa culture within modern Tib
Dr Nida’s teachings are widely known throughout Asia, Europe, Russia, the USA and Australia, where he has trained students in Traditional Tibetan Medicine, Ku Nye Massage, Mantra Healing, Diet and Behaviour, Dream Analysis, Sa Che (geomancy), as well as Birth and Death according to Tibetan Medicine. All courses, seminars and public talks are organised through the IATTM and NMI. Fluent in English, Dr Nida is an experienced and knowledgeable communicator with a sophisticated ability to teach the subtleties of these traditional modalities to westerners.
Class will be 3 days from 10am to 6pm. Course donations: $300 and $280 for students. Partial work trade may be available to promote the event and put up fliers. If you cannot afford the cost of this class but you feel called to be there you will not be turned away, though through respect for the teachings we ask that you make a contribution that is in accordance with the life long value you will receive from these teachings.
