Group Description

For the people following up and staying connected after the 10/17 Connecting for Compassionate Action gathering at Seattle Center. Link to the event page.

If you want to start a discussion there is a Discussion Forum. For example there is a discussion titled: Alphabetical Summary of All Open Space Topics. For each session there is a link to the convener, except for a few which we are hoping will still sign up. Perhaps you want to continue a session that was started in open space that day. Go ahead.

Here are some photos from the gathering:

Om Ah Hum..I feel so blessed to be in community with you all, and grateful and honored to share song at the closing of this event. What is staying with me is the palpable sense of resonance of all of these wise and strong hearts and minds, listening and sharing with such respect, such care, such courage. Waves in resonance build and grow, and this is what is happening in this flow. It is a vibration of Love. It feels like life, when one molecule and another forms and begins to pulse together. Possibilities are infinite. Thank you for being in this resonance and helping to create a world more wonderful for all, and for so inspiring and touching me with your truths. I have great hope in this time of transformation because all is vibration strong vibrations makes change. Om

Sociocratic Seattle Implementation Meeting, with a Introduction to Sociocracy and Next Step Together

Please help us spread the word through your trust vectors!

Monday, October 19
Tuesday, November 10
Monday, November 23
(hereafter, twice a month, various days)

6 PM Intro to Next Step Together and Sociocracy (Dynamic Governance)
7-9 PM Top Circle Implementation Meeting
We will work towards having Seattle Top Circle meetings where eight people represent the entire Seattle population sociocratically. For now, everyone is invited. Please bring along anyone interested in building critical mass and democracy, but, the bigger their social network, the more people they represent, the better! Invite the mayor, the governor, your minister, your state rep, your union president, etc.

Agenda:
~ Trust Matrix survey
~ Seattle’s Next Best Idea contest
~ Starting a Sociocratic Party
~ Connecting with the Compassionate Action Network
~ Report and discussion on building a database/website
~ How to film and share films of NST discussions with well know people
~ Monopoly-like Sociocracy board game
~ Your agenda items
~ Getting to know one another
~ Social time (pot luck)

See www.NextStepTogether.Net

Directions:

3323 33rd Ave SW, Seattle
Take the West Seattle Bridge to Harbor Ave/Avalon exit (NOT Harbor Island!)
Left at light (Avalon)
Immediate jack knife right before the Luna Cafe (unmarked, but it's Manning)
Immediate left up hill (Manning still, but the sign is AFTER the road) (do not go out onto the big road, Admiral)
Follow road (right, left, right-no choices) up the hill until you see a yellow mansion and a dirt road straight ahead.
Park. Careful not to block the road -- don't park on BOTH sides.
We are the big brown rambler with the red front doors and three car driveway.

Jon, The education meeting was combined: I joined Andrew Himes to convene his session and Andrew and Mike Seymour combined their sessions. The very rich comprehensive discussion was recorded by Jim McGinley. Sara Lee, I am thinking it might be good if we had a follow up meeting for the whole group on 10/31 in the morning in person and over the phone.

Thank you dear Convening Circle...and Conveners of sessions...!!!

What was our work on Oct. 17th? It was answering the question: How do we inspire and support compassionate action in ourselves, our communities and our world?...by connecting for compassionate actio

AND in the Fisher Pavilion on Oct. 17th, I experienced an amazing harvest of on-going work, new work emerging, a gift exchange of heartful initiatives, joyful tender embraces, and a restless stirring to do MORE, BE MORE, invite and nourish new connections. I was surprised by the new (de) lights from Boise, Bellingham, Bellevue, Seattle, Issaquah, Alaska!!, Vancouver, Tacoma, and thrilled by the atmosphere of cheerful, quiet determination to do compassionate action in places as diverse as Cambodia, schools, prisons, religious institutions, corporate life (to name only a very few focal points of the 50 offerings!).

I was grateful for the spirit of Yes! and support of all of YOU who invited, helped set-up, brought your beauty and practice of compassionate action into service of CAN: our resilient, connecting, gentle web of relationship and Self-organizing possibility. (When I use the capital "S" I mean Source-organizing--for (I believe) that is what sustains our creativity and alignment in the flow of life force that fires compassionate action.)

To those of you who couldn't be with us face to face because of illness or other commitments, I felt your presence and valued your gifts!

We made a "joyful noise" into the world!! And many of us unleashed practical initiatives that CAN's networked web and its users will continue to support, strengthen and nourish.

Thank you dear "kindled spirits"*! Let the fires of love burn brightly! anne
