Compassionate City Campaign - London, Ontario

December 14th, 2010, London Municipal Council's standing committee, Community and Neighbourhoods, will hear the proposed resolution to affirm London, Ontario as a compassionate city. As the recent municipal elections resulted in the swearing in of a new Mayor and several new city counsellors, the proposed resolution is one of the first orders of business for the new city council. If the standing committee agrees to the resolution, it will recommend its adoption before Mayor Fontana and the whole of city council. To see a copy of the resolution, please see: C4C - Resolution for City Hall.pdf

I am very excited to hear from Salma in Calgary and Rabbi Clarke in Ottawa - both of whom are commencing compassionate city campaigns in their respective cities.

Hi Jannet - It's nice to see your group on CAN. When it's active we'll be happy to feature it on the CAN home page. If you choose, Edit Group in your Admin Options, you can turn off the blank text box and discussion forum until you're ready to use those features.

This is an exciting day - calling upon fellow Canadians who are members of CAN and may be in the midst of their own Compassionate City campaign to join the Canadians For Compassion group. In this way, we can share updates with each other regarding our respective campaigns, get advice and also work together to excite other Canadians to launch compassionate city campaigns across Canada. Please check out the C4C website, which is still under construction but will be expanding in capability so that each Canadian group involved in a compassionate city campaign or other compassion-in-action activity, may promote their activities.
