We are now planning, organizing and launching a one year online 'rolling' conference on the question of, How Can We Build a Culture of Empathy and Compassion?
http://bit.ly/nU0NXB
The conference consists of an ongoing series of online Panel Discussions with empathy and compassion experts from all fields and walks of life. The panels take place using Skype group video conferencing, they are recorded and placed on Youtube for viewing at any time.
Empathy and Education Sub Conference:
How to Nurture, Foster and Teach Empathy in the Education System?
A section of the conference will be specifically about how to develop a comprehensive empathy curriculum for the educational system. We invite educators to propose and moderate panels on this topic.
You can host (facilitate/moderate) a panel which consists of 5 people and lasts one hour. List your name as moderator and find 3 people you would like to have on your panel. The panel can meet a couple of times and pose different questions: The first panel will address the question: How Can We Build a Culture of Empathy and Compassion? Since this is a new format and technology, we will be developing and improving the format as we go along.

Comment by Edwin Rutsch on November 21, 2011 at 11:49am Hi Jon, Would Compassion Action Network like to be the second sponsor to this conference? Compassionate Listening Project became the first sponsor.. I'd like to add your logo to the sponsor list?

Comment by Kay Lindahl on November 8, 2011 at 4:08pm This is a wonderful initiative. My deepest hope is that we also consider how we can collaborate with exisitng groups, initiatives, etc. that have similar goals. How do we embody cultures of compassion and peace - in our own lives, in all of the many ways we are already connected in the world? How do we get outside of the box of linear thinking to break through to a new way of being and doing?
Comment by Edwin Rutsch on November 7, 2011 at 10:42am 2. promote conference to their members
3. facilitate panels
3. your idea here? do you have suggestions Jon since you've put on conferences before?
I'm also going to copy and past this thread to the conference group.
