Project Description
This project is a collaborative endeavor to “map” Seattle’s compassionate action participants and practices. The interactive map will be featured on the CAN website and at the Seattle Center’s Next 50 event. We will produce:
The map will look like this:
Project Roles
The Compassionate Reporter receives comprehensive training before engaging with compassionate leaders. Using a set of tested interview questions, the Reporter meets with local leaders and explores their perspective of compassion in Seattle, their guiding principles and contributions. The interviews themselves are recorded using a high-definition and easy to use video camera. At the completion of the interview, the Reporter sends the raw footage to the Editor.
The Compassionate Editor has the crucial role of turning raw footage into clean, concise and powerful videos. The videos themselves will be featured online and available for anyone to view as they explore Seattle's Compassionate Action Network. Using cutting-edge software, our Editors can quickly produce high-quality videos and send them to the Compassionate Researcher.
The Compassionate Coordinator works to identify and contact local compassionate leaders, inviting them to be interviewed by the Reporters. Following their consent, the Researcher coordinates an interview between the interviewee and Reporter. At the completion of the Editor's work, the Researcher is responsible for receiving and uploading the interviews online.

Saludos de Mexico,
I too apologize for being MIA but alas I am in Mexico completing the second year of my graduate degree. I am working as a research assistant with the Center for World Indigenous Studies (see http://cwis.org). Christine, I look forward to hearing more about the project that you are working on and thought that you might want to look at the following link for potential sustainable farming practices in the Puget Sound Region: http://www.growingwashington.org/partners.php
Warm Regards,
Heidi
Comment by Christine Joann Callo on November 1, 2011 at 4:03pm Hi guys,
Sorry to be MIA, but I ironically have been caught up helping complete the documentary film project on Tibetan and sustainable farming - in which the main theme of the movie is 'cultivating compassion' AND we are actually looking for 30-second video interviews of people practicing compassion as it pertains to the land to show during the end credits! So, right now, I would love to find locals who are practicing any environmental-responsiblity and their thoughts on compassion related to their work. Recommendations?
Elle - Would love to hear how your interview goes!!
Lots of love,
Christine

Save the Date
There will be an open house on December 15th in Bellevue-Redmond. The new offices/tea house of CAN.
I am pulling together a "collective impact harvest report" that we will distribute prior to the 15th. I will send you an early draft to make sure we have your input. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Comment by Christine Joann Callo on September 28, 2011 at 11:32pm Thanks Jon and John! I got the invite and I tried to upload my file but it exceeds the space available! Don't have the capacity to break-up it up into smaller bits right now. Will try again later!! Looks like the group will have a good list of interviews to go through for tomorrow, already. Again, sorry I can't make it but I have another footage-editing project to attend to. Have fun!
