Compassionate Seattle

I am posting this with respect for the faith of others but am torn. These old theologies need to give way for true conscious evolution to grow. Other directed (as by doctrines and dogma, priests and holy leaders) has been the source of religious conflicts as power and populations created friction. Personal faith can be amazing (mine is derived from a weave of multiple theologies and science) and yet the collaborative action as in "praying" together is truly powerful (as in creating critical mass); so we need the indy strength and the connecttive to work simultaneously and yet separately. Oxymoronic?

As the paradigm change to whole concepts is part of the sustainable movement I see it parrallel the spiritual; I guess I see them as actually all the same, as in  connected heart , body, mind, spirit - we too are connected to the whole of the "known world, universe etc"

My question: Are we actually mature enough as a species to embrace the challenge of the new paradigm, own our selves and actions and act accordingly; are we brave and responsible enough to live up to our best possibility?

This is a great post, sure to start dialogue! I love the open mind and heart that comes through your words.
While I don't think old faiths need to completely give way for true conscious evolution to grow, I do see your point.

We share an affinity, having both cobbled together belief systems from that granola mix of various philosophies and empirical evidence, but personal faith and ideological religion are not necessarily mutually exclusive; indeed, if heartfelt, they can actually be complimentary.

What we need is the best of both worlds: the traditions and fellowship of old-time religion and the pragmatism and personal stamp of our own self-expression in communing with a higher power.

Very interesting, complacency-challenging post. Write on!
