Welcome
to the Compassionate Action Network. As of January 2010, CAN had
over 1000 members from 29 nations. We strive to be diverse
culturally, politically, generationally, and in our spiritual
practices. (To be honest, the photo on the right isn't really us
but we share the same sense of optimism and enthusiam.) Here are
ten ideas to engage in this growing global community:
1. If you haven't already done so,
Sign Up for a free membership.
2. Learn about the organization by reading
About
CAN.
3. Add a photo, share your definition of Compassionate Action, and
tell us about yourself in your profile.
4. Join a
Group and
add your voice to the online conversations. If you would like to
create your own group, let us know in the comments section on the
CAN
Communications page. We'll share a few simple guidelines for
groups that want to be featured on the Home Page.
5. Skim the list of
Members and send
friend requests to people who interest you. To do so, choose "Add
as Friend" in the upper left below each individual's profile
photo.
6. Announce
News that is
consistent with the CAN vision to "awaken compassion in children,
ourselves, and our world." We request that headlines have short
titles and initial caps. For example, "This is a Short News
Headline"
7. Announce an
Event on the Home Page
and/or participate in events in your area to meet fellow CAN
members.
8. Add
Photos and
Videos to the CAN
site. We'll feature the strongest ones on the home page.
9. Invite friends and family members to join CAN by signing-in and
choosing "Invite" on the top toolbar. You can also help raise
awareness of CAN through your Facebook and/or Twitter updates.
10.
Donate to help CAN build a global compassion
movement. This is a legal non-profit (501c3) organization based in
Seattle, Washington USA. Or, checks can be made payable to the
"Compassionate Action Network" and mailed to the following
address:
Jon Ramer, Executive Director
Compassionate Action Network

Finally, if you have questions or ideas to improve your experience
with CAN, members who have signed-in may post a comment below.
