Quantum Connections

This is from my regular blog, but I wanted to also share it here, and to share that feeling of connection. That, I feel, is what leads us to that deeper need for compassion.

Robert and I went to an introduction event at the Seattle Adidam house last night. About half way through, I started feeling Adi Da's presence very strongly, and started weeping, also feeling very much that I'm missing His physical presence, which is absurd in a way, as I haven't seen Him since 2005. But I was.… Continue

Turning Away from Naricissus

I think I'm ready after a month or so of grieving, to write something here about Adi Da's leaving the body. It's taken a while, the sadness has been unbearable at times, but somehow Grace got me through the worst.

There are a number of Adi Da's devotees on the CAN site, and one or 2 who have also been to see Him fairly recently. They will know and probably feel also what I'm going to talk about here, but so will you all, I'm sure. There isn't any separation between us at heart, and… Continue

Hi - I am writing to ask for your support in creating a compassionate world. When I started the Compassionate Action Network I was hoping that social networks could be part of how we activate the will and find a way to make just and lasting change. I am grateful that you joined this network and I sincerely hope that it has made some difference in your life and your community.

It was the action part of compassionate action that got my attention. So now I invite you to be part of taking another step forward together. I ask that you take two minutes to join the 10 Year Campaign for Compassionate Cities if you haven’t already.

We need 1,000 people to join by March 15 to have the Mayor and City Council follow through on their end. If you personally join the campaign and share or send this on to others we will take a big collective step forward in building our capacity to make change happen. This is not just another petition, what you do will make a difference. You can learn more about this here

You don’t need to be a Seattle resident to join this campaign, and this idea is spreading. Campaigns have started or are starting in Vancouver, BC, Bellingham, Bellevue, Issaquah, Spokane, Portland, San Francisco, and London.

If there ever was a time to stand together and affirm that what each of us does and does not do makes a difference it is now. I ask that you find the time to add your name to the growing list of people awakening compassion in our cities and our world. Join here now

We look forward to deepening our connection and hope your writing will be profoundly inspired! Joel (and Michelle!)

Hi Dear,

I hadn't heard about Adi Da, but clearly that would require a tremendous amount of your time and energy. I'm not surprised that you are only now beginning to resurface. Both of you have been in my thoughts, so we really should find an opportunity to get together again sometime. And I'm always at Sakya on Sundays!

Love you,
Monica

My work schedule is pretty wonky as far as meals go! But it is so easy for me to come to your neighborhood that we should just decide on a day and time that works for all of us and not worry about my crazy schedule!

I would love to have you come to Sakya some Sunday! Just look for me downstairs with the kids.

It was just wonderful being able to spend time with both of you on Saturday! We'll have to do that again sometime soon.

Hi everybody! Thanks for yesterday's Seattle Center event, it was a great day, and I loved meeting each one of you.
I'll be posting a few photos later in the day.

A little more about me, who I am, what I am doing.
I am a student of the spiritual Master, Adi Da Samraj, and have been a member of that community for a little over 8 years now. That's my primary focus, being under a formal vow, but like many of you, I'm also very much into the 'interfaith' thing, that transcends the labels we give ourselves.

Adi Da's thoughts on the peace process, etc, can be found here, if you're interested in what I am very much aligned with as my own personal thoughts on things.

I am also a part of the Seattle Interfaith community through my very much beloved friend and brother Phil Lane, who has been a great inspiration and teacher to me this past year.

So my hopes are that this Seattle (and further!) community grows and makes real progress toward being the change we want to see in the world. One thing I have learned is that it takes both the group and the individual, to make a real difference.
