July 9, 2012 from 10:45am to 1pm

We are meeting at Westlake Plaza on Monday, July 9th at 10:45 am to march on the sidewalks to City Hall (600 - 4th Avenue). We will march along 4th Avenue and plan to convene at City Hall at noon. We have a permit to gather at the City Hall Plaza - if it is raining we'll move it inside to the first floor near and on the stairs leading to the City Council meeting chamber. It was the action part of compassionate action that got my attention. So now I invite you to be part of taking another step forward together. I ask that you take two minutes to join the 10 Year Campaign for Compassionate Cities if you haven’t already.

We need 1,000 people to join by March 15 to have the Mayor and City Council follow through on their end. If you personally join the campaign and share or send this on to others we will take a big collective step forward in building our capacity to make change happen. This is not just another petition, what you do will make a difference. You can learn more about this here

You don’t need to be a Seattle resident to join this campaign, and this idea is spreading. Campaigns have started or are starting in Vancouver, BC, Bellingham, Bellevue, Issaquah, Spokane, Portland, San Francisco, and London.

If there ever was a time to stand together and affirm that what each of us does and does not do makes a difference it is now. I ask that you find the time to add your name to the growing list of people awakening compassion in our cities and our world. Join here now
