Hi Phyllis,
I live in Seattle and plan to participate in one of Andrea Cohen's compasionate listening workshop end of January in Edmonds, Washington. Looking forward to enter the comunity of those who care about compassionate listening...a very integral aspect of clear, effective healing communication. Hope to meet and work with you on a project one day. ~Cheers

Welcome Phyllis to our expanding global community!

A good next step is to click on the "My Page" tab to update your profile photo; this makes the network more personal. You can also stylize your personal page and share your passion, gifts and talents that you wish to offer. Thanks for letting us know what you care about! I am just starting to explore the path of compassionate listening and loving speech myself. Perhaps we should compare notes from time to time. Either way, welcome.

You can click on About CAN http://my.compassionateactionnetwork.com/page/about-the-compassionate-action tab to learn about our history, vision, mission, and guiding principles. There is also a Get Started page to help with the basics.

Hopefully you'll be inspired by the resources: in the media tab http://my.compassionateactionnetwork.com/video there are over 300 videos and photos; members can post events and news that promote a compassionate world

We are excited about the 2,100 + members spanning over 130 countries, many of whom join groups http://my.compassionateactionnetwork.com/groupsrelated to areas of interest (e.g. education, youth, interspiritual, compassion in business, etc.). According to Florynce Kennedy: "Don't agonize. Organize."

May your time here on CAN further motivate you and the opportunities you bring for connected engagement and mutual support. This we do, we do together, for the empowerment and the benefit of all. Martin Luther King, Jr said: "Life's most urgent question is, what are you doing for others?" Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.
