Topics Related to Compassion:
Rich Fisher is a mediator, business consultant, and attorney in Seattle, Washington. He helped initiate the Transforming Mideast Conflict Project, www.Conflict2Healing.com, an on line multimedia education project that teaches skills to access the transformational power of the human heart to develop mutual understanding and resolve conflict, even in the presence of bitter hatred. Those skills are Compassionate Listening, Dialogue, Win Win Conflict Replacement, and Interfaith understanding.

Rich's passion in life is the design and presentation of programs that heal and transform conflict into life enhancing experiences and partnership. In May of 2001 Rich initiated an Interfaith Dialogue on the Middle East Peace Process at Seattle's Town Hall featuring interfaith clergy, 25 trained mediator/facilitators, more than 200 participants and speeches by Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich and Seattle Congressman Jim McDermott. The Compassionate Listening Project film, Children of Abraham, was shown as a basis of discussion. In April of 2002 Rich initiated another Town Hall forum on media coverage of the war in Iraq entitled "War in Iraq: Fair, Balanced, and Accurate Coverage?" This was cosponsored by the Washington News Council, the Society of Professional Journalists, CityClub, and Tools for Change Institute. An innovative small group dialogue process was used to involve the panel of distinguished Seattle journalists with the audience.

The Transforming Mideast Conflict Project is also influenced by Rich’s two previous books co-authored with Marissa Theisen, Win Win Power: Transforming Conflict, a transformative mediation textbook, and George and the Jeannie: An Adventure in Conflict Disappearance, a teaching novel available on Amazon.com. Additional information about Rich is available on his web site, www.winwinresolution.com
