South Seattle needs Support and Solidarity for Social Justice: Monday mid day rally
Please come downtown on Monday to show your support and solidarity! The Compassion Book, A Grieving Man, and His Family
Yesterday evening a man came by the corner saying he saw the compassion book in the restaurant across the street. He flipped through the book for a couple minutes, deciding whether or not to purchase the book. He asked how much it was. I told him fifteen dollars. He seemed like he didn't know if he wanted to spend fifteen dollars on the book. He left.
About 20 minutes later he came back and decided to purchase the book. I took the money, gave him his receipt, and asked him if…

Compassionate Seattle is partnering with SE Seattle neighbors to plan a day to meet in Rainier Beach and help several businesses by painting out entire walls and applying special anti-graffiti coating. Original poem written and read at Racer Cafe by host of Sunday's silent vigil
Standing Still
by Brenda Kay Neth
In the Silence of this loss, we are standing still
There is no movement to be made.
But to accept and to see
that we are bound together.
Silenced by the silence
We reach out beyond language and pain
To find there is a world where we can live again
No answers for the violence
But to…

"O Lord, bestow upon my soul
the most prestigious status of a Love-Worshiper.
Once my soul is Blessed by Your Love, it will be fully capable and ready to start relaying Your Love Messages

Even though the tongue is always used to better explain things,
the silent and tongueless

Tool Kit for Conversations at Home and in the Community
Tool Kit for Conversations at Home and in the Community

It’s affected all of us – whether we knew the victims or not – perhaps threatening our sense of safety and trust in the goodness of those around us. How…

The 24-Hour Compassion Marathon & the 3-Year Anniversary
Foremost, I offer gratitude for being able to write this blog this morning.
On Saturday morning at 12:01am I began the 24-hour Compassion Marathon at the corner. The marathon consisted of being at the corner the whole day Saturday. As soon as I sat down and completed the usual routine of settling in at the corner, someone came by and sat down next to me saying that he saw me there all the time and wanted to talk and find out what I do there. Mind you, this is around midnight,…

From the Seattle Times http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/editorials/2018335675_edit03hope.html
The tragic mass murder this week in Seattle is disturbing on many levels. But the actions of bystanders responding to the still-shocking circumstances shows an important contrast — that good people can step up and make a difference.
HOPE is still alive in the city. Last…
