Compassionate Seattle

I talked to Stephanie at the the Maydenbauer Center, and she has an awesome space for CANFEST, and it's available at a discounted rate on October 18th. They have 2 big rooms 18,000 sq.ft. each and 9 meeting rooms separated by removable airwalls, as well as 3 small conference rooms for 6-20 ppl.

She's sending me more details.

I checked into this because that's the location of the WAEYC Educators' conference which ends the afternoon before (Sat October 17th.) An ideal audience and a great collection of presenters will be in Bellevue due to that, and I would love to see them mix and match interests and focus with CAN.

CANFEST will be in the Seattle Center. I can tell, now that I feel my body relax regarding that news, that there was stress when I was offering the suggestion to change the location, that I have now relaxed from.

Acceptance of new applications at WAEYC are best turned in immediately, since the deadline for submissions has officially past.

Details are in, passed on to Andrew Himes, and through him to Marilyn Turkovich, Anil Singh-Molares, Anne Stadler, and Genessa Krasnow

(...) there may be a few different options:
· Evening event on one evening from October 15-17 that does not conflict with WAEYC
· Change the dates for CAN at the Seattle Center to be a different weekend in the fall
· Craft a Compassionate Education proposal to be part of the official WAEYC program
· Leverage the workshop Briana already has planned ("We Teach What We Do")
· Plan a separate CAN education meeting/event during the day October 18th either at Meydenbauer Center or the Seattle Center
· Some combination of these.
