The Benevolent Evolution

Imagination is the precursor to reality, not all imagination becomes reality, but all reality begane as imagination. If I can imagine the world in all its entirety driven by human's better nature it is possible. What is impossibile is what I cannot fathom, what I cannot envision, or what cannot be envisioned by anyone. When I am comfronted by why this is not possible I ask if it has been possible at any time that one, or a few, were driven by this credo? They think and then usually come up with Gandhi, or Martin Luther King Jr. flawed human beings to be sure, but their value system was so intact that that flaw did not detract from their trajectory. They say that, that is one person, or a small group, that it is not possible for the 'majority' to do it.

I posit that the majority has done its opposite. That we have put in place systems and ways of thought that are the exact opposite of this ideal and one must ask the question why? Some say that it is because Humans are innately 'bad' but I point to the Greats, and the Anonymous greats, I point to their own lives and say I do not think there is or has been a single Human being that has not had at least one spark of selflessness, one spark of giving above getting, unadultarated selflessness. That is just as much human nature as it is the bad side, if the Bad side was so prevalent, so powerful, it would completely eliminate that 'better' half. We see this in society: when a dominant culture infiltrates another (via guns and demographic warfare-my people, Tibetans, are subjected to this) the dominant culture subsumes the vulnerable one. If this is the case with 'bad' human nature why has this not occured? Why are we not then devoid of the ability to tap into this benevolent nature? If it was some vestigal psychic limb then it would not be so prevalent, I think, nor would it come to full fruition in some people such as the Dalai Lama-the Snake with the vestigal limb does not manifest, in any number, into a fully functioning lizard with all its limbs.

What is the problem? Systems. The selfish desire is the most basic and primitive aspect of our natures, it is; food, shelter, mind: a poverty mentality-or, feast and famine mentality (poverty has so many meanings that I hesitated to put it there). Thus it was only natural for that sort of mind set to arise, for it to become systematic, and in our 'modern' sense it is more complicated but we have not, as a whole, evolved much past this mentality. If I want to get rich (feast) there is a readily available system in place for me to do so; work, invest, rate of return etc but if I want to end hunger, or as King County has done as a mandate in 10 yrs-end homelessness, for example, there is no readily available system in place as there is for my selfish desire.

It is here with my idea, at the genesis period (not really because all things are caused by effects and vice versa but for sake of the point allow me this) I am crafting a system to make it easier for those who have these ideas that float in our better natures (we all have it). I wonder what happens when there is no barrier toward our reification of our imagination except the content of our ideas/characters. That there are no longer choke points of access e.g. grant writing, grantors, etc. And that there is a ready community to support your idea, for you to suppor their ideas, and what happens when we do this? I believe that we can harness technology (something I know philosophically via Mcluhan, Postman, etc) as a multiplier of our positive values but only if we are aware of our situation. If we are not our default value systems are selfish and then technology will multiply this and we know what will happen then..
