Water Sines at St. Mark's Cathedral Rafe Pearlman (pt 1)

On the evening of November 7, the Water Sines orchestra performed improvisational music for meditation. CAN was a co-sponsor of this event. This clip features Rafe Pearlman singing the Lord's prayer in Aramaic. St. Mark's has never looked like this! The diverse ensemble showcases music inspired by guitarist Sidney Genette. It featured Native American flautist Paul Wagner, members of Seattles EQLateral string quartet and a host of instrumental soloists. Special guest artists from many cultures whispered poems, prayers, and affirmations on the theme of water. Adding to the ethereal experience, a yoga inspired dance troupe performed a water blessing ritual. This all took place against a backdrop of moving water imagery with an accompaniment of river and ocean sounds by audio capturist and Emmy Award winner Gordon Hempton, renowned for his catalog of nature music.
